Board of Directors, 2011-2012
The Texas Master Chorale elects a Board of Directors annually from the membership and friends of the Chorale.
Brad Bouley, Artistic Director — Director of Fine Arts for the Tomball Independent School District. He holds degrees from the University of Oklahoma and Sam Houston State University in Music Education and Conducting. He is active throughout the state as a choral adjudicator and clinician. Mr. Bouley is past Region Chairman of the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA), Region 9, and past Area Chairman of TMEA, Area D.
Harriet Fether, Executive Director — Retired educator and department head; past Executive Director of The Regional Arts Council; member of the Greater Tomball Area Chamber of Commerce, the Houston/Northwest Chamber of Commerce, and Tomball United Methodist Church; past President of Tomball Business and Professional Women; graduate of Leadership North Houston.
Dave DiCamillo, President — America’s Team Lead for Hydroprocessing Technical Support for Criterion Catalysts and Technologies, L.P. a Shell Oil company; 9 year member of the Texas Master Chorale; adult choir member at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, Cypress, Texas; season ticket holder for Houston Grand Opera and Houston Ballet.
Jim Tucker, Vice President — Account Manager for Schlumberger, an oilfield service company. Past Tenor Section leader. Currently a staff singer at First United Methodist church, downtown Houston. Previously a choral member and soloist at Holy Covenant UMC and Plymouth UCC.
Terri Calkins, Secretary — Educational Diagnostician for Tomball Independent School District; member of the Texas Educational Diagnosticians Association.
Linda Pennell, Treasurer — Retired educator, Principal and Professional Reading Specialist. Member of Delta Kappa Gamma (professional women educators’ organization), Writers League of Texas, and John Wesley United Methodist Church (Champions). Retired member of the Association of Texas Professional Educators, Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, and International Reading Association. Secretary of Bahia de Matagorda Community Association.
Susan James, Member-at-Large — Manager of Geology for an international oil and gas corporation; certified geologist by AAPG, State of Texas, and State of Wyoming; member of Houston Geological Society, Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists, and Adult Choir at St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Community (Champions).
Larry Hitt, Member-at-Large — Principal at Gulf Coast Benefits Design, an insurance brokerage specializing in group health insurance and other employee benefit plans. He holds a Marketing BBA from Southern Methodist University. Larry was a member of the Houston Symphony Chorus from 1998 through 2007, serving as bass section leader and president of the Chorus Council. He is a member of the choir at Northwoods Presbyterian Church. A member of TMC since 2007, Larry is the current bass section leader.
Marsha Robinson, Member-at-Large — Marsha is beginning her 12th year as a member of the Texas Master Chorale. She is a graduate of DePauw University in Greencastle Indiana with a degree in piano and vocal performance and received her teaching certification from Sam Houston State University. Recently retired, she spent twenty-two years as a choral director in Cypress Fairbanks I.S.D. and six years as a paraprofessional in Klein I.S.D. As a choral director, her choirs consistently received sweepstakes at UIL events and Best in Class at D.C. Festivals. The Cypress Woods H.S. choir was privileged to sing with TMC at the holiday concert in 2008 and for the TMEA convention in February of 2011. Marsha was also the pianist, organist and choral director at St. Edwards Catholic Church in Spring for sixteen years. She also taught private piano for fourteen years. Since retiring, Marsha is focusing her energy on accompanying, mentoring young choral directors, singing with TMC and acting as TMC’s current librarian. She is an avid cook and quilter. Most importantly, Marsha loves spending time with her husband, Don, and their five grandchildren: Gracie, Bradley, Danielle, Jovie and Julia.
Jeff Taylor, Member-at-Large — Currently Sr. Vice President of Westlake Chemical Corp., Jeff has spent 35 years in the petrochemicals and plastics business, 30 of those years in the Houston area. He and his wife Brenna are members of Faithbridge United Methodist Church, and he has sung baritone in church choirs at Lakewood UMC, Bridge City UMC, and Faithbridge. He has been a member of the chorale for 11 years.
Danny White, Member-at-Large — Actively involved at his church of 17 years, First Baptist Church Magnolia in the youth ministry as well as the worship technology ministry. He also sings in the First Methodist Church-Downtown choir as a Staff Singer. Currently, Danny is studying at Lone Star College-Montgomery to be an Audio Visual System Specialist.
Jeannie Williams, Member-at-Large — Jeannie is beginning her 21st year with the Texas Master Chorale. She holds a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Southwestern Louisiana, now known asthe University of Louisiana Lafayette. She developed the music program for K-8th grade at St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic School in New Orleans, and became their first music teacher. She has also taught piano privately for 37 years. Prior to singing with the Chorale, she was a member of Chorale Acadienne in Louisiana for over 10 years. Jeannie and Gene, her husband of 39 years, are both supporters of the Arts.
