The winner receives an all-expense-paid trip for two, which includes airfare, four nights at the Sheraton Tower in Manhatten, tickets to the Lincoln Center performance, and
a reception and dinner at Tavern-on-the-Green after the performance.

Raffle tickets sold for $35.00 (one chance to win a trip for two) or $50.00 (two chances to win a trip for two). Participants who bought the $50.00 package also received a free ticket to the Chorale's Houston performance on June 1. Chorale members travel at their own expense.

Headlines from 2008 - 2009

Historic downtown concert

Houston, Texas, March 29, 2009. First Methodist Houston (Downtown) sponsored an historic presentation of Morten Lauridsen's ethereal Lux Aeterna in a first downtown concert for The Texas Master Chorale. The concert also featured the First Methodist Sanctuary Choir singing Mozart's Solemn Vespers and culminated in a presentation of Beethoven's Allelujah by both choirs.

Christmas invitational concert a sell-out

Houston, Texas, December 22, 2008. Approximately 1000 patrons attended the Chorale's Christmas concert at The Centrum, which featured Francis Poulenc's Gloria. Sharing the stage, the Cypress Woods High School Varsity Mixed Choir performed Randol Bass's Symphony of Carols. For the finale, the Chorale and Cypress Woods together presented Bass's sparkly Gloria.

The Chorale prides itself on inviting an outstanding school choir each Christmas to participate in the Christmas concert. This opportunity for young singers supports their musical appreciation and education by enabling them to prepare choral master works, sing with a professional orchestra, and perform with an auditioned adult choir.

Dedication of the Thomas Ball statue and lighting of the tree

Tomball, TX, December 13, 2008. The Chorale sang seasonal favorites and led the outdoor audience in a festive sing-along at the Train Depot in Old Town Tomball for the unveiling and dedication of the Thomas Ball statue and lighting of the annual Christmas Tree.

Co-Grand Marshall of the Tomball Holiday Parade

Tomball, TX, November 22, 2008. Texas Master Chorale shared the spotlight with the Disabled Veterans in leading the Tomball Holiday Parade. The Chorale donned Santa hats and sang seasonal favorites aboard a float. The parade attracts up to 50,000 people.

Who we are

The Texas Master Chorale seeks to promote the appreciation of quality choral music
by providing opportunities for Houston’s northwest
suburban community to experience the performance of choral repertoire and masterworks as either artist or patron.

Since our first performance in Northwest Houston over 20 years ago, the Chorale's popularity and influence have grown continuously throughout southeast Texas. We currently have 100 auditioned singers, many of whom are professional musicians.
