Support the Chorale

Dear Friends of Texas Master Chorale,

Greetings, and welcome to Texas Master Chorale’s 33rd Season of performing quality choral music for Houston area audiences. Enclosed is a flyer with information about our concerts this season together with ticket purchase options.

There are two notable changes to point out. We are pleased to announce that all concerts will be at John Wesley United Methodist Church at 5830 Bermuda Dunes in the Champions subdivision. Next, we are offering season tickets at a 20% discount if purchased by October 11, just prior to the first concert on October 13.

Annual Pledge Campaign - October 1, 2018 through December 31, 2018

The annual pledge campaign is our primary fundraiser each year. We are asking that you please consider becoming a supporter of Texas Master Chorale for the 2018-19 season. Ongoing supporters like you are the foundation of our financial well-being. We are a 501(c)(3) corporation so all donations are tax deductible.

Please see the attached donor form to review the donation levels and benefits available to our supporters. Note that season passes (tickets to all three concerts) are provided for almost all donor levels if your contribution can be made in the next few weeks. If after October 11, tickets to remaining concerts will be provided.

Why your support is needed

One of TMC's goals has always been to offer arts patrons in our community an affordable concert experience. Fortunately, being close to Houston allows us to draw from the region’s elite professional musicians for orchestras to enhance the concert experience for our patrons. However, professional accompaniment is expensive - ticket sales cover only about 60 % of our concert expenses, which for full orchestral accompaniment can be between $12,000 and $15,000.

That being said, we do not want financial constraints to restrict the audiences for our concerts. For example, music students from area schools are invited to attend most concerts free of charge. In addition, for several seasons we have offered our high school choir outreach program. This enables local choirs the opportunity to perform on stage with Texas Master Chorale members accompanied by a professional orchestra, and experience how participating in music can be a lifelong endeavor.

Additionally, we have started a music scholarship program for high school and college students who are pursuing music education and performance degrees and will award the first two $2,500 scholarships at our spring concert on April 6, 2019. Donated funds will allow us to build on this program for the future.

Our capital budget needs include a professional-level sound system, which will enhance our performances at smaller community events and assisted living facilities.

This is where you, our supporters come in. We are asking you to play a role in keeping choral music relevant in our schools and community. Your direct contribution will greatly enhance our mission of continuing the tradition of live musical performances.

We are very appreciative of any level of patronage you can provide through being a financial supporter, attending our concerts and bringing your friends to attend evenings of great music. Through your efforts, we have been able to keep choral music a vibrant component of the cultural fabric in our community.

If you have any questions about our mission and programs, or about how you can help, please contact Larry Hitt at (713) 858-2300 or

We greatly value your partnership and hope that you enjoy our 2018-2019 Concert Season. We look forward to seeing you in the audience!
